My Dad gave me this a few days ago. From what I've looked up it's a Mk1 standard that was shipped in late 72'-early 73'. I've found and downloaded the manual for it, disassembled and cleaned it. Is there anything special I need to know about this line/series? Also what mags can I use in it? Can I use any of the new mags in the Mk1 or do they have to be of a specific design? It does have the tab on the mag follower on the left side of the mag. Also were there any recalls or upgrades I should do/have done?

Sorry for the newb quesions but I know nothing of the Mk series.

Thanks.

Very nice. The only thing is that barrel and site setup requires you to "Lollipop" your target. Just letting you know , so if you go shooting it, you dont come back here complaining your shooting high. lol.

Ruger MkII mags have a thumb piece that can be switched to the other side, as well as a removeable baseplate. I have never tried them in a MkI but they should work.
