School me on the Ruger LCR in .38 spc
I just recieved a Ruger LCR .38 spc in trade for an older Norinco Type 56 SKS. We both got what we were looking for in the trade so I know there is no hurt feelings. My Type 56 had all matching serial numbers, cleaning kit and rod, and a bayonet, and it had been unfired since import. The LCR in .38 SPC I recieved had less than 200 rds fired (as stated), 19 rds of Hornady Custom .38 SPC, and a Mitch Rosen Holster.
So please give me the long and short on the Ruger LCR. I put 50rds down range last week and I plan to put at least 100 down range tomorrow. I felt like I was a hair left and less than a hair high b/n 7 and 12 yds.
I love shooting this pistol, and picked up an HKS 36A speedloader for reloads. For carry I have just the one cylinder and speedloader (10 rds total). So what are the thoughts of those that carry this pistol daily. I have carried it a few times around the neighborhood on dog walks. I have a Sig Pro SP2340 for cold weather daily carry and a Kel Tec PF9 for summer Carry. I like both, but the LCR came available, so I grabbed it. I think I'll use the LCR as a daily carry b/c I like how it fits in my hand and how it shoots.
So what do I need to know as a first wheel gun for carry, Etc?
Can't help you much on the LCR itself, other than I like gripping it much better than a J-frame –– and I'm probably going to test-shoot one on Monday.
I don't always agree with everything Ayoob says, but I think this is a very instructive technique on how to reload a revolver if you're going to carry a speedloader:

Came across it while researching revolver carry issues, since I've never carried one before.
Thanks for the info I appreciate it.
Anyone else own an LCR in .38 spc want to kick in some info?
I own the .357. Obviously, I mainly shoot .38's. I probably have 50 rounds though it so far. I love it.
I love mine. It is much better than the Smith lighweights as far as felt recoil goes. It is my pocket gun.
Love mine too! Added XS big dot front sight!
Would Very much like to turn this into a Solely LCR Pic Thread along with Holsters and gear that goes with the LCR.
Right Now I have a Mitch Rosen Holster for mine that fits me like a second skin and almost makes the LCR disapeer.
Any more tech info or maintenance issues that one should understand or know about as well is also welcomed.
Along with that, Ammo preferances etc.
