ejector rod backing out on Security Six ????

I recently bought a nice security six. When firing the ejector rod seems to unscrew slightly under recoil. Screw back in fire another six shots, loose again. Rinse, repeat. Is loctite a viable solution here or am I missing something?

The rod unthreads in the same way as the cylinder rotates.

You could use blue loctite, but better is to get a new star lock washer and tighten it down.

Part number KE-24.

If you ask nicely, Ruger might send it for free.

Congrats on getting your Security Six Shotar. They are some great wheel guns. I was shooting mine this morning. I like it more every time I shoot it.

I'd try this, they have sent me several parts over the years at no charge. You might want to post your issue at rugerforum.com or rugerforum.net, two different sites with a wealth of Ruger info. Thread locker is also an option.

I have had 5 Security Six's over the years.

Had this problem once, Locktite fixed it.
