EDIT I was checking out a local gun shop when I came across a New Model Ruger Blackhawk in .357 mag for $250. Condition is about 90% some wear on the blue but thats it very smooth. I couldn't pass it up for that price and was able to take it out for a spin this past weekend the grouping was far from great. 6 inch groups @ 15 yards off sand bags with some Cheap Remington rounds, what ammo is good in .357? are there any mods I can do to help improve accuracy? i.e trigger, new barrel, new sights?
EDIT - I think I understand - it is a new model
What caliber is this? If it is a 357, I shoot quite a bit of 38 Special through mine as it is cheaper. I reload my own 357 and 45 Colt but 44 Mag I buy Winchester White Box at Wal-Mart. I really don't shoot that much 44 Mag as I prefer the 45 Colt.
lol sorry about that. Yeah its a New model blackhawk in 357 mag.
Don't know about the .357's, but on the .45's the cylinder throat diameters have a reputation for variance and in general being undersize. Might want to check that. Offhand I don't know what the correct diameter should be, but one or more chambers may be pinching off a bullet and messing up your groups.
