I recently bought a Kimber Pro Carry II off the EE here. Should I expect any feeding problems with certain JHPs or anything like that? I have read a bit about this already. I shoot and carry Glocks, and as I'm sure you know, they eat anything. Also, does the 4in bbl cause reliablity issues as opposed to the 5in bbl?

4 inch bbl's are perfectly reliable. Just try out different types of ammo and see what works and what don't. Also try different mags because some feed at slightly different angles and this can help with feeding.

My Pro Carry eats everything from hand loaded hollow points and lead round nose to factory hollow points and FMJ's. Mine needed the extractor tuned out of the box but that's no biggie and took one range session and 5 minutes of adjusting.

Don't let all the trash talk about Kimber get to you, they make fine pistols. Go out and shoot the crap out of it when you get it.

Since it's used, I would recommend replacing the recoil spring with a Wolff one so you have a fresh place to start and know when the spring needs to be replaced again.

*Edit: Make sure to read the manual carefully, or at the very least, remember to keep your hand off the grip safety when taking it down! If you depress the grip safety while taking it down you risk damaging the firing pin safety mechanism which will definitely put a damper on your newly acquired pistol!

The only issue that I've ever had involved factory supplied magazines. In my experience, pick-up several Wilson Combat 1911 magazines and your Kimber will run amazingly!
