I have a TLE/RL II and I'm interested in putting a magwell on it.

Is this a simple swap? What magwell do yall recommend? Not carried off duty that often.... dang department regulations....

Thanks

AFAIK, kimber is no different so it should be simple. And I would reccomend (and I use) SA magwell/mainspring housing

My Kimber SS Target II came with a plastic MSH. I replaced the MSH on my Kimber with an Ed Brown Maxi-Well stainless steel unit from Midway USA. This is a MSH/magwell combo. The magwell can be removed from the MSH, if so desired.

Same here replaced the plastic MSH on my Raptor with an Ed Brown Maxi-Well one of the textured ones.

You'd think they could do better than plastic on a $1000 gun wouldn't you. I'll be replacing mine soon as well. I like the looks of the Ed Browns chainlink and snake skin patterns.

S&A or Nighthawk custom.

S&A is nice and wide and too look right, requires S&A cut grips.

The Nighthawk Custom is a 2 piece affair but istead of a screw, both the MSH and magwell are held on by the pin and a spring loaded ball holds it tight to the frame, plus no need to change the grips. I have 1 S&A on my Colt Rail guin and a Nighthawk Custom on my Regent and GSG1911. I'm going to replace the plastic MSH on an Eclipse Custom I'll be picking up soon with a NHC. Both are excellent quality made units.

S&A

I will take a look at all the suggestions and go from there. I have a Raptor II at the toy store, so I guess I'll be ordering two magwells.

Thanks again,

I've used S&A and KImber mag wells and they worked equally well. They both fit snug with no filing on full size grip 1911's.
