My first Kimber, an Eclipse Pro II, formerly a Glock-only man. It's a big day.

What I need to know is, what are/where do I get the best aftermarket mags for this thing? I can tell already just from looking at it the factory Kimber mag is sub par.

I'm also probably going to put a beveled magwell on it, suggestions welcome on that.

Also bullet weights, as I'm more familiar with the 9mm Glocks, this is my first .45. Best bullet weights for plinking? Home/Self Def.? IDPA type stuff? I generally tend to go with the lighter side.

Other than the mags and the magwell I pretty much like it exactly stock the way it is so far, the way the grips feel are good to me, Mep nites look good. Gonna go shoot it tomorrow, will post my initial impressions, which I'm sure will be night and day compared to my past life as a Glock shooter.

And I'm riding the fail-boat on posting pics for a little while til my cam battery charges

I got mine from Midway....they are the "Shooting Star' 8 round stainless steel version with bumper pads...I think Bud's Gun shop carries them as well....

My Eclipse II Pro liked Wilson 47D and Tripp Cobra mags.

I use Winchester 230 grain Ranger T hollow points for defense and Winchester 230 grain White box for plinking.

I installed an Ed Brown snakeskin mainspring housing and magwell on mine.
