Nickel and chrome questions

Hello,
Satin nickel versus matte chrome, which is most pleasing to the eye? If I recall correctly chrome is harder and would be more durable right? How does the satin nickel hold up? Can either of these be polished to a mirror shine?

if you want a mirror shine... why not get polished chrome?

I can't find any polished Mark 1's or 7's right now. However, I do know of a couple good deals on satin nickel and matte chrome models though.

found a Mark 7 at a decent price in .44 mag. However, its a shade of gray I do not see currently offered. Was a darker gun metal gray ever an option? Seems like some sort of metallic finish.

huh, since Robar is in Phoenix where I am located, not surprised if its the same finish. $899 at a local shop.
