How do I get this damn firing pin out?

On my .50 DE, I am having trouble disassembling the slide.

The slide is on FIRE, and I use the combo tool to push the firing pin in, but it never seems to go in far enough.

It seems to hang up on something, which prevents me from dropping out the firing pin stop.

WTF?!

It really is not that hard unless you have the "California Drop Safety" model (1st time I did it I was like WTF MF FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!) Just push harder

The manual is terrible in explaining what you're supposed to do.

There's the firing pin and a peg above it. You need to push that peg in which should then allow you to push the firing pin in and slide the firing pin stop out at the same time.

There's basically a wire keeping the firing pin from moving in far enough, when you push the peg in, it moves the wire so you should be able then push the firing pin in correctly.

Hm, yours is different from mine. Is it a XIX or a older model? I have the XIX model in .357
Don't have any experience with the older ones so maybe I can't help you...

That is the Ca model only supposedly...

ETA: that is how come I had so much trouble with mine. I replaced mine with a 49 st model like the one he pictured shortly after I bought the damn thing. All he needs to do is push in farther (its probably carbon-ed up inside and not allowing full forward travel under normal pressure. It does need to be pushed in all the way past the notch in the multi-tool then while holding pressure on the multi-tool you slide the firing pin retaining plate down and cover the opening with your hand so you do not lose the spring/pin when it tries to eject itself.
