This little thing is a copy of a Chec pistol the "Kevin" originally in 9X18 and due to the '68 gun law impossible to import,so Magnum Research went and got the ok to copy it here in the US,the one odd thing with this little blaster is the action is gas retarded, and yes that means the gas holds the action
closed a bit to help it work with a small slide.
Some pics:
Here's the grip I get in firing it.
Just about one and a half fingers worth of grip here folks,my hands are big but more long then, say,"ham fisted"
View from above,it is a slim pistol.
And a look at the gas ports.
And your sights, these are really big and as you'll see it makes for some shocking accuracy
Ok here's my target, about ten feet away, the first target is from just some one hand blasting and I did a bit of two hand "combat grip" shooting, making sure to keep my finger off the trigger guard!
When I did this I noted it shot damn well so this morn I tried the two hand hold for four mags, that's the target at the bottom-see what you think:
Last night.
This morn....am I seeing things? that's four mags worth???

no you're not that IS four mags of six each!
I took my time and made each count,I'd say shots at ten yards are doable and maybe all the way to fifteen! for such a small thing this is mucho impressive!
Other things to note-ammo was some Win 95gr FMJFP wich fed a bit erratic, but some old FMJ with a reg round bullet fed like mad,may polish the feed ramp a bit see what that does.
The trigger is serrated and will chew you up after a few mags,if you like to plink with your ME then wear a glove!
It's listed as a steel slide with a teflon finish and aluminum frame, construction is top notch and MR gets a :tu: for that.
It comes with only one mag,be ready to buy at least one spare and maybe two.
You can get seven shots in the pistol with a full mag and one up the spout,I just use six as it's easier
So what do I think? well for the price, between $500+ to $429 or so depending on where you go it's about double what a Kel-Tec or Ruger runs for,but it's smaller and is all metal so I think it's worth it.
I've read some saying it weighs more then the other two,but it's so little as to make no difference to me,your milage may vary.
So over all 10 of 10,you got the cash and want a really small .380 look up the Micro Desert Eagle.
Next (the first part was two days ago) I parked the target board
WAY out there for a micro gun....but,well,if you happen to have one of these and decide to take a long shot with it? bad guy may have a shock coming!
Yes that's four mags worth of .380 out of a 2 inch barrel at approx, what? 15yds? sweet mother! (BTW the shells are to mark the anchor points)
So today I find I have a few older .380 shells laying about from when I owned a Mak,so I go to shoot some more because this little bugger is actually fun to shoot!
At the end I had five shells left and thought "what the frick I'll see if I can shoot that far again"
.............
Ok,Kronos what the hell do you have out there? we can't see it!
It's a standard issue empty soda can,if I can hit that even once with five amazing, right?
Second shot and I tagged it! four and five smacked the cement block I had it sitting on! holy cow Homer you can shoot that far with this little thang!
Think I may be in love with this little beast!
Here's a pic of it taken down.
Again nice pistol,expensive,but worth it.
Interesting... Do they make ankle or pocket holsters for these? I might get one.

As small as it is you can probably just stick it in your sock...
Amazing report I've been thinking of picking one up and this makes it a whole lot easier!
Would love to hear if polishing the feed ramp makes any difference on the HP ammo!
Looks toyishly small, but I am impressed with the accuracy - just not the price.
Nice review. Ive got one on the way.
Good review. This gun has been on my short list for a while.
My only comment is that it's size compared to the KT/Ruger is quite comparable. It's thickness and weight make up for it's slightly shorter barrel length, so to say that it's actually smaller might be incorrect. I find it hard to imagine a realistic 'scenario' where the slightly shorter barrel length of the ME would make it a more concealable pistol than the KT/Ruger.

True enough, but from all the guns I've played with at the store the ME is about the size of a Raven .25 (about,ok?) but that's only slightly smaller.
I think were it starts to win is how it shoots, for such a small thing it's unfuckingblieveably ease to shoot well, recoil isn't that bad (thanks to the all steel construction) so you can know that if you have to use it you can put rounds into the target where it'll count.
As to JHP......
I can't find any,all I can get is ball I did find ten Hydrashocks from long ago in my box,I fired six and it worked fine but that ain't much of a test.
I will admit as I said FMJFP has some problems in feeding, odd since the JHP's just went through the pistol like water through a colander soooooo-you will need to test that end yourself,if you can get some JHP.
Thanks for the report. I have been wanting one of these, but didn't want to get one while .380 was so hard to find.

I have one of these and cary it daily. It is HIGHLY reliable.

My SN is 110 lower than yours!!!
This is the Hunter holster I use. It fits perfectly my right pants/shorts pocket. The rectangular piece of leather really stops the gun from printing and helps hold it in place in my pocket.

Not bad,to me it's about like a full size 9MM-you know it went off but it's nothing...not like a micro 9MM or .357 which is

,the trigger is grooved so that'll dig into you after a few mags, but it's not a big deal to me.
You can always grind them off if it bugs you.
I've been looking at these myself. If I can find one for under $400 (used obviously) there's a very good chance I'll have a new backup after that review!

How about a new one under $400?
http://www.shootersjax.com/magnumresearchmicrodeserteagle380acppistol.aspx
I've bought a couple of guns from these guys. They just lowered the price $10 to the $389 price.
Anyone tried Fiocchi 90 grain JHP in their Micro Desert Eagle? Local place has it for $19.99 per 50 round box.
I liked my Micro Eagle when I first got it, that is, until the slide cracked in half right under the barrel. After I got it back from the manufacturer, it was immediately sold.
