I can have one in a matching caliber to my deer rifle. I want one in .458 SOCOM!!! So what are my chances of this happening?

Then they suck anyway. I think someone is making a wheel gun chambered for it, but I prefer autos. And of course nobody else makes anything big enough.

What are the chances that your hand would fit around the grip if it was large enough to house a .458 SOCOM magazine?

I suppose that would depend on the bullet and overall length of the round. There is obviously no chance of a 600 grain truck stopper fitting. But why would anyone do that to their wrists anyway? I could live with size restrictions to have it work.

Get one in .50 or .44 and call it a day. I just picked my .44 up last Friday and I love it. Very tame recoil and very reliable.

wont happen. you can get a bfr in 45/70 or 450 marlin wich is stouter than 458 socom. they share the same bullet if you did reloading. maybe a bfr could be made in 458.

But the idea is to use the same ammo for my AR and a pistol. I have looked at a .44mag. The idea of being able to buy Eagle food at walmart (usually) is a huge plus for me.

I have seen what happens when you use the back of your hand for a rest under cylinder while hunting with the BFR in 45/70. Long story short, don't do that. This may also be in the running for a hunting hand cannon.
