What light loads can be shot through the .44 and .50 DE?

Greetings,

I read alot about how hot loads are a must for reliability. So what are some of the lightest loads that work in the Desert Eagle? Please post bullet weights and velocities if possible.

Thank you
Take care

Uhhh...Im not going to tell you the minimum safe loads due to safety concerns, but I can tell you where to find it. Look in the Speer #14 manual and you will find everything you need. I always run minimums so I can reuse the brass several times. The minimums have always worked for me. Jeff

Thanks guys.
I actually don't reload. I am curious what light commercial loads reliably function.
Does the Corbon .44 165gr. JHP work in the DE?

Corbon stuff is usually hot so it should be fine.

My dad used to reload my DE, he said that the Eagle seemed to like hot loads. However, I am using 240grn JHP's with 296 powder - I started on the low side and they shoot just fine. In fact, I like this load better than the factory stuff I've been shooting. I've only ran 3 different runs of the same load thru (getting my feet wet slowly). It seems the low side with 296 has more of a "pop" and the gun does not seem to jump as much as with the factory stuff. 296 seems to have higher muzzle velocities which is probably why dad used this powder. I am completely happy with the low side loads using 296.....
Hope this helps...

Just found my old thread, thanks Colorado.
What velocities are you getting?
