 CZ mags in Baby Eagle?

So wich is it? I like the looks of the deagle and have admired it for awhile, and I have a CZ75 already, but I have "enough" mags alrewady. I'd stock up more mags "pre-bann" if I knew they'd fit a Deagle later. (not going to buy deagle mags yet since it's just a wimm and I may never get one)

I use magazines from Pro Mag, factory mags, and just recently a Mec Gar 12 rounder. The EAA Witness and CZ-75 magazines will work in the Baby Eagle; the .40 or the 9mm will interchange within the same caliber for all three pistols.

I don't know why IMI went to the slide safety, I prefer the earlier frame safety model since it's easier to manipulate. The EAA Witness and CCZ have frame safeties but not ambidextrous safeties as the Baby Eagle models have.

The Baby Eagle pistols are reliable and are based on the CZ pistol which uses the same magazine. The Tangfolio also uses the same magazine. I heard that some parts are made by Tangfolio for IMI but that may only be a rumor. The only change I would make is to have IMI go back to the Browning designed frame safety instead of the Walther style safety. The frame safety is easier to release. IMI also has a new pistol called the SP-21 Barak (Lightning) which uses the same magazine but has a new frame and slide. The Barak has an accessory rail and a frame safety and is available in 9mm, .40 and .45 calibers. You can read about the Barak at http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg132-e.htm

My .40 Baby Eagle is very reliable and my friend has a polymer frame one in .40 caliber. He experience stovepipe condition until I showed him to grip the pistol firmly so his hand won't recoil with the pistol and cause this condition. Now his polymer pistol is shooting reliably. The barrel has polygonal rifling which is accurate but will foul up if you use lead bullets instead of jacketed ones.

Well I heard this rumor also so I tried it. First off my baby eagle is in 40 s&w and my brother CZ75B is also in 40s&w. Let's put it this way, it would probably work, but it does not fit quite right in the baby eagle. The locking hole is slightly off on the cz to the baby eagle heigth wise. So I hope this helps most of you. I have only had two issues with my failing to feed and that was because people were limp wristing it.

I have the 9mm fullsize and tried CZ 75 mags. They did not work.

I have used CZ SP01 mags in my 9mm baby eagle with some success. The two mags that came with the CZ did not lock the slide at the last round, but the other two that I bought separately seemed to work well.

Baby Eagle mags have different followers. That's why they don't lock the slide open. I modified my BE by putting a spot of weld on the slide release where it engages the follower. Then I polished it back down and reblued the spot. This lengthened the catch on the slide release and now it will lock the slide back no matter what mags/follower combo I stuff in it.

This picture shows the different followers

The Witness mags work fine and I don't segregate my DE's from them.

I heard that the Witness mags are fine in the Beagles and Jericho's, but the others not so much. Hence why the guy above had to customize his.

I have no hands on experience with this though so I'm just going by what I've read. I did however buy a Jericho 941 w/ frame mounted safety a couple days ago and I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I bought one of the 16rd Mec-Gar magazines in preparation. I would really like some larger mags such as 18 or 19 rounds.

How many rounds do you have through your Jericho with those 19rnd mags?

Can anyone else confirm this? do they function 100%?

Thanks,
Jon

Here is all I know. I now have my Jericho 941F and the following magazines work fine:

- Jericho 941F magazine (that came with it)
* Loosest fitting of the 3 types, although the others are all brand new and this mag seem well used.

- UZI Eagle Magazines 17rd
* My favorite of the 3 types I own. I bought them off the Equipment Exchange Fits a bit tighter than the Jericho mag, holds 1 more round, nice fit and finish, slide release feels as it should.

- Mec-Gar 16rd
* Seems to lock in tighter. The magazine is really solidly locked in unlike the other two. Makes it kinda difficult to push the slide release.
