 Considering a Baby DE...

Alrighty im thinking i need a BDE. Im thinking 9mm for open carry when im out in the woods incase any big kitties want to play. So how do these pistols stack up in the workmanship area? Are they all put together fairly well like the big DEs? Im not so much worried about finish as i think a good service pistol looks better with the finish worn off the edges. Also how well do they handle +P and can they handle +P+?

well i have the compact baby deagle 9mm... i love it.
i think it stacks up just fine against its big brother, however you must know that they are not a minitureized desert eagle, in fact they are completely different guns, but they sure are awsome, at least mine has been

buddy of mine LOVES his, little trouble finding holsters, but other wise, great groups, never a failure in 500rnds.

I recently got one, a 3.93" barreled polymer framed 9mm and it`s been a great pistol so far.

I have the .40 with the 3.9 inch barrel myself as a carry peice. I love it. Shoots great and runs 100%. For holsters I use either a Uncle Mikes IWB or a Bianchi #5 for a S&W40VE. Fits it perfectly. Not sure about the ammo though.

Workmanship is typical IMI.
Well above typical Western nations MFG average, to excellent inside and out.

Cool thanks guys, i was always kinda impressed with the lack of machining marks on my MkXIX. As far as this pistol being different i know its more of a CZ SIG 210 design.
As far as the ammo goes can they handle the crazy +P+ IMI ammo? Just wondering because i have some and it makes a freakin sweet fire storm coming out of my G17. I just want the Isreali dude to have the same fun is all...

The manual says not to use +P, but I've never seen a manual that didn't say not to.

I've seen nothing out of my .40 that would make me think that hotter loads would be bad for the gun. It's built like a tank. You just might want to get a stronger recoil spring for the hotter ammo. CZ75 springs work, and EAA Witness springs work as well.

I think the manual statement about +P is a suggestion and mainly in there to cover their butts. I met a guy at the range that had a .40 cal full size and he reloaded for his gun quite hot bullets. Additionally nato spec 124 grain 9mm is pretty close to being +P, so it probably can't hurt to run a box of it through you gun once in a while, or for defensive purposes.

That's what I was getting at. I like using the DoubleTap 135gr .40 rounds in my BE

http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_26&products_id=107

1400 fps and 600ft/lbs in a nice comfortable (to me) round.
I've never bought into the .40 having such snappy recoil. They all seem to throw me off target whenever I squeeze the trigger anyway no matter what the chambering.

We can't say enough about the accuracy and workmanship of our IMI 941. It was an awesome buy!

I had the nested recoil springs bind up twice in my baby DE .40 compact. I used the springs in my Witness in it for a while and there was no problem. Otherwise it has been a good pistol and I used it as a carry gun until I got two XD's. I still use it some since it has trituim sights.
