I have a P2000 40SW and bought some .357 mags since they were there and 40SW were not. I got them last night and loaded 12 rounds in the .357 mags and the mag is a little hard to seat on a closed slide. Like a AR-15 mag loaded to 30 rounds.
Does anyone have an idea how or why this is? Also is there anything to do to rectify the issue. I bought 5 of them. If the slide is locked back then goes into the mag fine but if I run them with the slide closed it freezes up.
One of my co workers has a HK USPc 40 and he bought the other 5 and they are giving him the same issues.
I don't know of any gun that you can easily insert a full mag into with the slide forward. Just bump the mag and be sure it's seated.
When the mag is full the spring is already compressed tightly. You are compressing it more by pushing it against the slide. Has nothing to do with it being .357 or .40.
Nothing you can do but keep them loaded and let time take its course to let them wear in.
My USPC 40 is still the same way but a little eaiser now.
I actually prefer it this way since it's a reminder that if you don't hear the "click" then the mag isn't inserted right.
