I was just at Cabelas looking at the only Colt they had in the store, the Clapp Commander which I have wanted a 4" for CC....after looking the gun over I noticed where the slide goes back into the front-lower part of the frame,...the U section was not even and dragging on the side of the slide and put a scratch in it....I pointed this out to the clerk,...and he said what the f$@!....I liked it a lot and would have purchased but concerned, the aluminum "U"section the slide goes back into was not machined evenly, you could see it with your eyes....he agreed....I wonder if this is a just Colt lemon or inherent of the lightweight frame??? Anyone have one, or seen this??

My "Wiley Clapp" is fine. The frame dragging on the slide has been seen before. They should send it back and Colt will correct it.

I was thinking of making a low offer to Cabelas and see if they would take it then send it back to Colt myself...they may just do the same tho...

As long as Colt pays both ways to ship, that might work for you.
