Well my father finally retired and he and I got around to decorating his man cave area. We were going through the family guns and I noticed that his colt woodsman was dirty so I wanted to look up how to tear it down and clean it. Turns out his is a really low number serial number searies 1 pre WWII model. We really want to bring it back to spec, clean it up, get new grips for it and get an ORIGINAL owners manual for it. I cant seem to find one anywhere. If someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
Colt Woodsman Owners Manual
Might get you started. Check gunbroker.com and/or e-bay, etc for a possible original copy.
You can also go to www.coltsmfg.com. Click on "download" and there's a list of manuals to download, one of them being for the Woodsman. It looks different than the one in the above link.
Thanks for the link. We we able to get it taken apart for cleaning but its becoming our little project together to bring it back to spec and get an orginal manual so we can continue to hand it down through our family.
Register here and then ask. There are guys who will know where to find what you seek but an original manual likely won't be cheap. Good Luck
