Is the PPS properly sorted out now?
I recall that when it was introduced there were complaints about FTF problems, and a few other glitches.
Has Walther got the PPS to a very reliable state now?
I've always liked the feel/size/sights on the PPS and am thinking about picking one up before the end of the year.
Also, are they particular about ammunition? I'd get a 9mm version if I buy one.
No problems at all with my 9mm PPS. Have about 300 rounds through it. 8 round mags are still backordered, may be hard to find. 90% of my ammo is FMJ cheap stuff, but I shot about 50 rounds of Gold Dot HP's without any trouble.
I'm up to about 1000 rounds of mostly ball, but about 50 Gold Dots, through it. Not a one jam since I bought it new. Glock reliability and slim as hell!
I have more than 1500 rounds thru my 2009 without a single issue. I have used it in a couple of classes. One class i put over 450 rounds thru it in 6 hours with no cleaning. Not one issue. My PPS was only one of a few that did not have issues. 1200 rounds of 115gr wwb fmj, 300 rounds of 147gr fed hi shock jhp.
Anything with a serial # starting with ACxxxx or ADxxxx or later have been sorted out, should have no problems.
I've had a 9mm PPS for 18 months and I've put a real assortment of fmj and jhp ammo through it with zero malfunctions.

Thanks for the input.
The only thing that might put a stop to this would be if I find a P5c before I order a PPS.

Bought one yesterday. Really like it so far. Watch your speed reloads. Pinched the crap out of my hand the first time I tried it.
Hoping to warm it up tomorrow.
Will report back afterwards
Ran 100 rounds of WWB, 100 rounds of Blazer steel case, 50 rounds of Remington FMJs, and 50 Triton +Ps.
No stoppage of any kind.
So far I love this thing.
Make sure you run a few boxes of HPs thru it. Mine jammed the second HP I put through it, then never did it again. Only failure it ever had.

The Triton's are hollow points. Going to run some Speer Gold Dot +P HPs through it shortly.
I think a lot of the jamming problems might be magazine related, when I first got PPS I immersed it in oil and hand cycled the slide through out the week, then loaded some dummy rounds up and it would jam twice on a mag. I then loaded up the mags with live rounds and let them sit for two weeks went to the range and no problems, I think these magazine springs are just really strong and need a little "set time". FWIW I own a .40 PPS that I bought a year and a half ago and have run six different types of ammo through it but mainly 180gr. HST's.
double, sorry

2k rounds through my '08 PPS, and I've had 2 malfunctions since then.
One can be attributed to limpwristing (shooter was a small female), and the other malfunction (fte) happened within the first 100 rounds, the first time I took it to the range.
I have put gold dots, hst's, Corbon, 9BPLE, Federal ball, and of course WWB through it with no problems.
I do remember at the time of purchasing my pistol, reading numerous accounts of people having issues though, and that wasn't very reassuring.
I just went out and shot it, and shot it, and shot it...Then picked up 2 additional 8 round magazines for it, while I could.

In a nut shell I bought a PPS 9mm. Nothing but problems. Replaced by Walther/S&W and the new one is golden w/o a single issue.
Walther/S&W were very easy to work with and gave me no problems with warranty service.

No one is perfect and neither are manufacturers. There will always be some that get thru. I hate you had issues, but happy that Walther/S&W made good.
My only issues is that i recently bought a S&W M&P pro and a S&W 642. I dont have time to shoot them all.
I have an early ABXXXX serial number and I haven't had any problems. I've shot a few hundred fmj's and a box of Hornady personal defense 115 gr hp's. I carry it everyday.
I also have an AB5XXX and have had no problems that I can recall. I WILL buy another at some point. Two is one and one is none. This is my favorite carry gun and I've tried more than a few over the last 30+ years.
IIRC, the early PPS models chambered in .40 S&W had the majority of problems. Those chambered in 9mm, not so much.
Thanks for all the feedback folks.
Much appreciated.
I wish the mags and version with night sights were not so high priced, but, as far as I'm concerned Walther owns this market segment, so they can get away with their pricing strategy.
Let's see, my birthday is next month...
