Is there any trigger kit/work that I can have done to my 24/7 Pro? The single action is still too heavy and not crisp enough for me.
Also, is there any reliability work that can be done? I haven't been able to trust this gun, it fails too much, though I love it.
I have read another thread on this a few weeks ago. The consensus is that a good smith can tighten and smooth it. Not much but it is possible. In the thread one poster was going to disassemble and polish to see if he could get it smoother. Something I would pay to have done but NOT do myself.
Having said that.24/7's are not true single action guns. They'll never be as micrometer tight as a 1911 (well, you know what I mean). Mine is perfect. The single action is -right there- and the double action, though it takes some getting used to, is a smooth pull and click for me. BUT...I am a 'clicker'. I like a positive click. My smith says I should describe it as 'typewrite trigger' becuase after he had it set to my liking it was like a typewriter key (old school - pre computers).
I would suggest finding a local (and reputable) smith...have him perform a CLA on it ($40-80 depending on your area). If you can find a trustworthy one...ask him about a trigger job. They're not expensive...but only pay for it if they think it will do any good. You know?
Cheers!
Jay
