Pissed at Comp-tac
I just bought a new Glock 21 and I knew I have a Comp-tac minotaur leather backing sitting in my parts box from a previous handgun I'd owned just a short time. I logged onto the Comp-tac website only to discover, they've tweaked their design and the redesigned shells don't fit the old leather backings. By old, I mean I ordered this in 2010. How hard would it be to offer both first and 2nd generation backings? They supposedly make them on a order by order basis, so it can't be a stocking problem. At the very least they should offer a 100% exchange for a new backing. Now I've got a useless scrap of leather and a couple belt hooks. If there was a way to block myself from ever even accidentally logging onto the comp-tac website again I would do it. They have lost my business forever.
Edit: a member here has offered me a cheap body so I can sell this thing, this place is great. A big thanks to him.
I've also just now ordered a Raven Concealment for the G21.
Edit 2: email from Comp-tac confirms they changed the backing in April of 2010 and my order was in April of 2010. They offered a 15% discount on a new holster.
Wow man, really? Did you have a bad day today?
Just call them and ask someone if they can help you. I bet they will if you just reach out to them and ask.

did you try to contact them yet? or are you just venting?
I contacted them, but a internet search showed they are only offering people a 15% discount. That's a 12.75 discount. So yes, I'm venting and no I did not have a bad day. I am simply pissed I paid $85 for a holster that is advertised quite up front for the feature of "Interchangeable Spare Bodies."
I hope you at least got the free candy they usually pack in with their orders.

Glad you found a solution!

I'm having a hard time understanding this..... What did they tell you when you contacted them?
They haven't returned my calls or emails. As I said, an internet search produced that they are offering people in the same boat 15% off a new holster so my expectations are low. Unless the holster backing is 100% refunded I have no interest in purchasing a new body anyway, my money is going elsewhere now. I re-read some back and forth comments I had with customer service at the time I ordered this holster in 2010, questions regarding future bodies for new to the market guns. They knew about and alluded to the changes in the leather backings at that time, but did not bother to tell me that the bodies I was interested in purchasing would not fit my obsolete backing when they came out.
Edit: email response received: 15% discount.
Frankly; I never found the idea of switching shells to fit different pistols to be all that practical.
I gave mine to my nephew and only carry Horsehide Super Tucks these days.

I don't think it is either. The leather back starts to conform to the pistol being carried fairly quickly. And the shells are not a super fast change over. I always just bought a new MTAC if I wanted to carry a different pistol in one. Of course, I've switched to CTACs since then, so that doesn't matter any more for me.
