Secret City Weaponeers Holster received with pics and mini review.
Hey all.
Just wanted to share a new holster + double mag combo that Tony over at
Secret City Weaponeers made me. He normally doesn't do double mag pouches (they are a PITA from what I hear), but I kinda begged and pleaded and he agreed to do one for me.
Grey kydex, 25 degree draw angle, its a
KY-25.
I haven't gotten to the range yet, but I did some draw/dryfire/magchange drills once I got it on a belt and it was really smooth. This holster grabs the pistol with enough force that you have to pull it authoratively, but not so much that it feels like you are jerking your belt up when you draw. Same for the mag holder, but of course without a convex surface like a trigger guard, mags are never gripped quite as solidly as a pistol.
Here are some pics, I actually recorded some HD video of me shaking the holster upside down with the pistol and a fully loaded 15 round magazine, but I have to convert its format before I can put it up for you to see. Needless to say I'm very pleased. The rivets are very solid, the belt loops are riveted in two places, it all just comes together as a very nice package. All edges are smoothed and shaped on the kydex, and the entire placement of the pistol is excellent within the overall shape of the holster. The holster hugs your body very well, it is definitely not one of those blocky rigs full of 90 degree angles and protruding corners to snag other gear on.
Its not easy to make a concealment friendly holster for a pistol this large and bulky, but this holster is about as good as it gets for an OWB.
I'm looking forward to putting this on my gear and to giving it a proper workout at the range asap.
Lastly, Tony is a great guy and he makes a great product. It was worth the wait.
Little detail that I'm sure was intentional: The rear of the two magazines is canted at a few degrees to make it easier to draw.
I think attention to things like that is what separates good gear from great gear.
Bonus shot of the FNP and PSA AR pistols:
Can he make one for an FNP Tactical with a TLR1 and Burris FastFire?

I'll ask Seraph (Tony) to come visit the thread.
I'd buy a set if he regularly made the mag pouches. Looks nice.
Oh also, the fact that I had to use a flash, plus the all brown background make the kydex look kinda tan, but in real life to the eye it is most definitely the same grey as on the website.
I suck at photography.
Looks great, can't wait til my two holsters get here.
Looks good. Sure wish he'd do a SP-01 model

Not Tony obviously, but I think he's done this, minus the TLR-1. I know he did one holster for a pistol with a RDS on it.
Back to the topic at hand - Your setup looks fantastic parabellum. I've got a set coming to me for my Glock with a double mag pouch as well, and I'm really looking forward to getting my gear as well.
looks great, i think i made the right holster choice. i'll post a pic of mine when i get my holster and pouch.

Hey brother. Not much, just spreading the good word. Tony's a busy guy for sure, so if he doesn't stop in here, just IM him and ask your question. He's really good about getting back to people, and working with them if possible in terms of holster accommodation.
Tony definitely makes some high quality holsters and mag carriers. And he's a GREAT guy to deal with. I just received mine today and I couldn't be happier.
I took a bunch of pictures but I'll just include one for now. They're a bit big and I don't want to monopolize the thread!

Mike, hell go ahead and post em up!
I just wanted this thread to be a "thank you" from me to Tony and if anyone else has pics of his work, the more the merrier!
Looks awesome!
Good grief! You guys almost make me want to cry. I appreciate all your kindness, but I'm NOT that great guy, and I must admit that I am struggling with customer service. If you say that I make a swell holster - if you say that I make a FANTASTIC holster - I will have no problem agreeing with you. I put in a lot of effort to ensure that they're as nice as is possible, so that my annoyed customers will at least say, "It's a great holster that was worth the wait." Everything else you guys are saying is YOUR good will, and not my good virtue.
There are a few questions raised here, which I'll try to address, within forum rules...

So, in response to this: It is true that it took a while for my holster to be done. And it is true that at a few points in the timeline, I started to wonder if maybe things had gone south for Tony, and got a little worried about the project being completed.
However: Tony, you gave me the straight story, no BS, and you ended up shipping me a SUPERB holster to my exact specifications. Did it take a while? Sure. Was I a bit worried at one point or another? Sure. But you always ended up responding to my emails without trying to BS me, and I respect the hell out of that.
I always try to choose a small "one man operation" type business over a big company when I am going spend my money, and I have learned that when you do this, sometimes it results in delays that a larger operation would not have had.
I guess my point is that you always got back to me, you never tried to BS me, and you delivered a superb holster for a very fair price.
That makes you GTG in my book, and I'll be contacting you for another holster probably this spring.

I have done a holster (actually two matching holsters) for a pistol with a mounted TLR-3 and Trijicon RMR. Here's the Gray/Black one:
The TLR-3 allowed for a very slim holster, as tactical light holsters go. Note the contour of the sweat shield, where it sort of houses the inboard side of the Trijicon RMR. That's to prevent the RMR from pinching your love handle when you holster the pistol. The customer was extremely patient, while I worked out the configuration for this holster. I'm sure it was annoying for him to wait so long for the stuff, especially since I had to have his slide/barrel/RMR assembly to get it done, but he said he was well pleased. I owe that guy more Kydex, and it will be MY pleasure to make for him whatever he needs, because the execution of the holster in the photos taught me a few things.
cvtrpr - I can make the holster you want, but I'd have to possess the entire top-end assembly for a while. If you don't find that daunting, please feel free to contact me via PM, or via email, at seraph@secretcityweaponeers.com, and we can continue the discussion off the forum. Regardless, I appreciate your expression of interest.

I make the double mag holsters all-too-regularly. I just don't advertise them, because they require more labor to make them to MY satisfaction than most people are willing to pay for.

I suspect you know I'm trying to locate a loaner pistol for that.
Your photos aren't so bad, Mike. I have to Photoshop mine into semi-presentable shape. Thanks for the props! Is that an EXO G19? Looks great.

Yep! Glock 19 EXO. And it fits perfectly in the holster! ;)

Touche sir
I'm so glad I ordered from him. Still waiting for my M&P holster, but since my Son was born oh, 7 days ago? I've got some time till I get to the range....
I'll still be carrying my SIG P228 until my M&P 9 holster comes.
I was going to order belt loops for holster and mag carrier for both OWB/IWB AND for both my Ares Gear Ranger in 1.5 and my Wilderness in 1.75 but I'm thinking that I'm only going to carry with the Ares Gear, it's just so much stiffer and holds a holster so much better. I even went with the CSM model, and it still isn't anywhere near as stiff as the Ares. Glad I did my research for updating my carry gear.
I really went bonkers researching kydex holster makers, so damn many of them, including buying the kydex and making my own.
When I was a chef people would always nervously ask me for a "recipe", afraid that they were asking me to betray a trade secret if I told them both what, and how I put my ingredients together, that they wouldn't need to come to my kitchen any more..... I would always answer, "Sure, no problem, I'll write it down." They would then come back later and tell me, "I tried to make it taste the way you make it, and I just couldn't get it right."
Now I might be wrong, but I kind of think making a quality holster isn't as simple as going to knifekits, buying some materials, and tools, and going to town. That's why I went with Secret City, there are a lot of other makers out there, some with very long waits, some with very short, but I really think that Secret City has a skill level that both I, and they don't posses. I'm glad I went with Tony's gear.

Have you found one yet? I'll be in the market for an SP-01 holster very soon.
Has anyone received their orders? There are a few voices on M4C beginning to get very impatient.

Not yet. But I'm patient, so I am not freaking out about it.
According to a post over on M4C, (third hand information, I know) 70% of the back orders should be shipped by New Years.
I thought I was waiting a long time at 3 and a half months, theres a guy over there who's hit the 9 month mark apparently.
Im positive Ill receive amazing holsters, but I'm getting quite anxious now that one of my Shepherds chewed on my Serpa.
