Are the malfunctions specific to the G22 while using the Sreamlight or can this be found when using any handgun? Was thinking of getting the TLR-1s for my Gen 4 G22, maybe it would be better if I put it on an XD-45 or an XDM-40? Opinions? Any issues with similar lights from different manufacturers?

No, no they did not. They helped in some cases, but not all. The Gen 4's do much better but there are also reports of some of them still having probloems...to the point that a few agencies have either gone back to 9mm or traded into M&Ps.
