Longest you are willing to wait..
I am posting to find out how long people are willing to wait for their holster. I am about at the 100+ day mark and frankly I am chomping at the bit. Ordered a OWB kydex at July 12 2011, and no response from the owner/operator from either phone or e-mail. I just sent out a second e-mail just a few minutes ago.
And why I went with this guy??? His is a custom kydex outfit, since I ordered an OWB holster for a SIG P229 with SF X300 light mounted. Not too many people make holster for less common brands like HK/STI/FN/SIG. Plus this guy's website says it should take 8-12 weeks.. But to be fair...He didn't charge my credit card yet. So at least I don't have to worry about getting the money back.
So let's hear about the long wait for holsters, and which company has a long-ass queue... And whether it was really worth the trouble...
I'm not. That's why I learned to make my own. When I buy a new gun, I only have to wait long enough for me to make the holster I want. Not only that, but I usually have less than $10 in each holster and @ 1 1/2 hour of time at most.
Let me see now, It has been 100 days. Or 14 weeks.
And the web page says 8 to 12 weeks .
As of now your order is two weeks late.
Yes I would be wondering where my oder was.
You have called an e-mailed twice. With no response.
He has not charge your credit card yet.
I sure would be wondering:
Do I know for sure they got my order?
Did they send me a comfirmation e-mail?
Most of the place I have order from on line, sent a comfirmation e-mail.
If you did not get one. you may want to check you spam bin.
A lot of these Kydex place are one or two people. So if someone get sick.
Things slow down.
But I would still want to know where my order was..
So I would be calling every day and sending a e-mail every day.
When I finelly got someone. If there was not a good reason, I may drop my order.
All depends on how much you want the holster.
Let us know if and when your order comes.
PITA45
Yeah, I got a e-mail saying I am going into the queue, and starting it next week..
Cool ??
Hmm I guess its a combination of quality and price.
45$ for a Galco- Wont buy it
50$ for a Mil Sparks Ill wait a year
30$ for a raven, Ill wait a long long time.
But as for regular prices, I think 2-3 months is about my limit
nvm., I'll make a new thread.
The longest I have waited was about 5 months I think. It was also the shortest amount of time I have ever kept a holster. After 3 days I knew it wasn't going to work. Sold it for what I had in it.
I'm currently waiting 2 years for a custom knife so waiting 6 months for a holster isn't that big of a deal. It isn't like my life depends on it, I have other holsters. I'll also add that for all the long waits I've had for holsters, none of them were worth the wait once they arrived.
update to say I got the holster inside the wire. It is an Peter's Custom Holster brand, and it works really good. My holster is for the "NEWER" Sig P229 Dark Elite, which is on the E2 frames, which means the 9mm weapon has a 40S&W frame, so hence a new magazine for bullets. The holster is customized for the SF X300 mounted on the Dark Elite.
Pictures to follow after work tonight...
edit, sorry bad post
I don't wait.
I order custom built holsters and they're shipped to me within a week. I believe the last one i ordered i sent the money on Friday, and the holster was shipped out three days later Monday morning.
I refuse to pay $80+ and then wait 6 months. Makes no sense when there are other options without the 'name' stamped in the leather. No quality difference that i can tell.

Where are you ordering your holsters from??
For kydex, probably 2-3 weeks. I did the 4 month wait for an RCS and I wont do that again. There are more comfortable holsters out there for less and have them sooner. For leather, depending on who and how its being made, I could see a couple of months, but no more than 2. If I want one like a VM2 or something, I either look for someone who has it in stock, or save a few bucks and buy used.
Alright here is the new holster ––-
The holster is set for 1.5 inch belts, but you can also have it for MOLLE, or other belt sizes..

This is the answer.
I've been waiting since Sept 21 for a Kramer Leather vertical horsehide scabbard holster. This is week 7, their website states 6-8 weeks, but from talking with others who ordered this year it's about a 3 month plus wait.
I've been waiting more than 2 years for holsters at both Brigade and Nossar. Luckily I didn't pay up front, but I'm not holding out much hope I'll ever get anything at this point.
I only waited 18 days for my bravo concealment holster. The quality is great and conceals my full size m&p pretty well
Wait?? I bought my Glock gen 4 G19, when I wanted a holster, I ordered the MTAC, and I received it in a week. It's the best damn holster I've EVER owned! I like it so much I'm thinking of getting MTAC's for my other guns too!
4 to 6 months on quality
what type of grips??
wonder if they would fit the old sckool P229 40sw
I do not want to wait on anything when I am a paying customer! I just bought a sig sp2022 and after ordering found out the holster problem for this weapon. I emailed multi holster makers and all gave the same reply no holster or it was a custom order and a 8 week to unknown time frame to receive. No way they will get my business. I finally found a company called JBP holsters and they had a leather pancake holster for the 2022 ordered on Monday and had the holster on Friday would have had it on Wednesday except the post office sent my package first to VA for deliver and I am in GA! The holster is made in turkey but is on the same lines as a galco as quality and comfort. Why go with a custom holster maker when you can get basically the same thing faster and cheaper some where else. I do have custom and mass produced holsters and they both do the same damn thing in the end. So why wait and pay extra.
Considering I just placed an order for an RCS Phantom light mount, I will say about 5 months.
I already have a very nice custom kydex one I bought from a friend, just no light mount option for my X200 and I want to be able to carry with the light.
The longest I ever waited was a year. That was with Tucker Gunleather. I think the lead time was supposed to be 3 mos. That was ridiculous. I finally canceled that order because I bought another holster from someone else.
I just got a Kaluban Cloak that took 1 week, the shortest I've ever waited.
