Another option for Crossbreed fans (added pictures)

I was looking around at the classifieds section on another gun board when I came across an add for a holster that this guy was making. It had 20-something pages of positive feedback. The holster looked just like a Crossbreed Supertuck. His name is Tommy Theis. ( www.theisholsters.com )

I have carried one gun or another in a Crossbreed Supertuck for the last four years. The guns have changed a few times. But the holster remains the same.

The only complaint I have ever had with a Crossbreed is that they take to long to get and I don't think the cant is far enough forward. I always end up with the front dropped as low as it will go and the rear as high as it will go and still could not get it just where I wanted it..

So I decided to e-mail this person and ask if I could order one with extra cant. I e-mailed him about 1 a.m. on a Friday night. Thinking I may hear something back by Monday. After cruising the net for awhile, I check my e-mail before going to bed. He had already responded. E-mails went back and forth for a couple days. Him always replying in a couple hours or less. On Tuesday of the following week I e-mailed him to let him know I had mailed my Postal MO. His reply was "e-mail me your order and I should have it done by the time the MO arrives". I'm thinking "DAMN".

Anyway, I sent it to him, thanked him for the offer, told him it was a kind gesture but I would not hold him to it. Just make it when you can.

He e-mailed me back the next day and said the holster was ready and he had just mailed it. (he still had not recieved the MO)

I recieved the holster on Saturday. (gave him the order on Tuesday mind you.)

I have never recieved service like his from anyone or anywhere. PERIOD.

I have been wearing this holster every day for about two weeks. The cant is absolutely perfect. The belt clips hold tighter than Crossbreeds. The only thing I would change at all is the screws that hold the belt clips on are not flat like the Crossbreed. (I know, not much to complain about.) I had it in less than one week. The cost of this holster was $60 shipped after I had him upgrade it to horsehide backing. I think it's $10 less for regular leather.

I cannot recommend him or his holster enough.
Is it any better than a Crossbreed? Nope
Will it do anything a Crossbreed won't? Nope.
But it was $60 shipped and I had it in less than a week.

I will try to get some pics wearing it today but I believe everyone knows how they look.

Took a look at the site. looks good to me. Have the same issue with not enough cant. Right shoulder is a bit jacked from my time in the .mil so I can't do tooo much twisting around. Thanks for the heads up.

Order outbound.

Let me know how you like it. About to order one for my Sig 226R, and thinking of ordering one for my wife and her CW9.

I added some pictures to the original post. I have many more if there is a particular angle you want. That is the tightest t-shirt I could find. Wanted to show how close it sits to the body. Didn't figure anyone would want to see me without a shirt.

When wearing a cover shirt, which with me is generally a collared golf shirt tucked in, it disappears. Covers just as easily with a light t-shirt.

The gun pictured is a Gen 4 Glock 17.

Thought I would bump this up for no other reason than I keep seeing people talking about ordering Crossbreeds and having a 6 to 8 week wait.

Average time with this has been 4 days from ordering to delivery.

I have worn mine for about a month and a half, 12 to 14 hours a day average. Mine has loosened up quite a bit. I would say it is now about as loose as cowhide is when it's new or after wearing for a few days.

Still very satisfied.

Not bad, but after I saw how quick and easy it is to make one of these holsters from a kit I'll never buy another one.

Thanks for posting this. I have been carrying IWB since back in the days when only Bianchi had them and always hated them for being so vertical. Both my CB and the other brand are tilted as far forward as possible, and I have just lived with it.

Got one for the wife's CW9 for CC.

Took four days as usual. Think I have gotten spoiled.
