Fiochi Xtrema

Anybody ever shot this stuff? Really good price at Sportsmens Guide, uses Hornady XTP bullets.

The bullets and brass are both top notch. The only thing that turns me off is the velocity. They use standard loads with these and not +P. I would much rather have the +P loadings if you are shooting 9mm or .357. In 45 ACP, it isn't as big of deal.
But they make fantastic ammunition.
Take a look at SGAmmo.com . You can get Winchester Ranger T-series ammo for just a few dollars more a box. Or look up the Federal HST line. Both of these loadings are as good as you can get for defense.
If you go with the Extrema line, you won't be dissapointed, but you won't get the same level of penetration as other defensive rounds using the same bullets that load them to a higher velocity.

Last summer I got 500 rounds/ten 50 round boxes of the ordinary blue & white box FIOCCHI in 9mm for use in my CZ75 SPO1. This ammo was the plain jane 115gr. FMJ in brass cases and not the Extrema line you mentioned.
I don't have a (forgot what they'r called) velocity checker but I could tell velocity was wayyy down. I have a few different brands of 9mm 115gr FMJ including my handloads that are loaded mild. All of those easily cycle my SPO1. The Fiocchi cycled the CZ but was obvioudsly sluggish, I could feel the slide moving slowly.
I also have used Fiocchi in .22 WinMagRimfire in my Ruger SingleSix but mostly in my Marlin 982VS .22WMR bolt rifle which is very accurate. The Fioochi .22WMR goes bang and functions perfectly everytime. Accuracy is acceptable but not even close to Horny Vmax WMR in accuracy and consistancy. Fiocchi WMR is about half the cost of the Hornady.

Awww, come on. It was kinda cute!
Fiocchi makes very decent ammo. That Extrema stuff would be good to pack away for a SHTF scenario, but when there are better options out there, I wouldn't use it as my primary defensive loading.
