Just installed the rubber texture grips figuring that the skater tape variety would destroy my right hip. Install went smoothly and they look and feel great. A little bit more noticeable against bare skin but not in an uncomfortable way like the sandpaper type texture. Hopefully it will help me to improve my follow up shots.

Looks sick and assumingly a better grip for sure. May have to consider.

Thinking about trying out a Shield and I absolutely do not like an type of grip enhancements available for poly pistols. Is the grip that badly textured where it slips in the hand shooting 9mm ammo?

I have had zero problems with the grip slipping

Let us know how this holds up.

I used something similar in the past - Decal Grips makes sand and rubber stick on grips like that. I used the rubber ones on a HK USPc45. I carried the gun IWB, and the inside one always ended up coming off on the corners. I bought several sets after that - always replacing just the 1 side before I finally gave up.

I just put a piece of bicycle innertube on my Shield. I've done that with my Kahr PM9 and PX4 Beretta. I've also used it on a P99c and P99 in years past. Ugly, but much better than the rubber slips on sold to gun owners. No palm swells or finger grooves... And, even if you find a slip on with no grooves, the rubber is too damn thick

Me too and I live in the deep south; it gets HOT. I love Talon grips. Great guy, no shipping cost, and great products.

Just wondering because I see a lot of people add rubber/gritty grip tape to guns and although I've tried it, I never like it. The best texture/checkering I've experienced on a poly gun is the PX4 and P345. Wish more companies would just mold in well thought out texture/checkering from the beginning since we can't change out the panels like on metal framed handguns.

I wish the companies would be a little more aggressive with their initial grips as well but I honestly like the feel of the rubber grips. The rubber grips on my CZ P-01 are amazing and are what made me look towards this. I don't think they could do rubberized grips from the factory with a polymer gun. It would be interesting if one of the companies came up with a polymer gun that had some sort of system for interchangeable side panel grips. Actually come to think of it its surprising that there aren't aftermarket M&P backstraps that are made of different materials.
