Tell me about the M&P 45 please....
Owners, chime in here on recoil/accuracy or any con's or pro's you feel the gun has.
I handled an 8 round model today, and the guy said it wasn't a compact or a fullsize. He called it "mid size". It seemed Glock 19 sized in its proportions, and I'm looking for an excuse to get something other then a glock.
Help me out here!

i own the full size 45 and its my favorite pistol. Some people dont like the triggers in the M&Ps but i dont have a problem with at all. I did change out my sights for a set of dawson precision even though the factory sights were ok.
Did you get it with the thumb-operated safety?
If so, how do you like it? Do you carry 'cocked and locked'?
I like the safety on the 1911 and will probably get that style of safety if or when I get an M&P 45.
I have the full size and I like it a lot. Small grip, 10 round mags, very mild recoil and 100% reliable since day 1 suppressed and unsuppressed

I didn't get it, I wanted to ask about it here first. I'm not very up to date on the M&P line, I want to make sure its a good piece before I drop the money. Its 442.00 before my rebate.

44deuce is a steal.
I think it's the best .45 on the market...more reliable than most of the, um, classic 45 style guns, and the best of the polymers.
Sure the HK45 is bombproof, but it's too large for its capacity and not nearly as good a value.
Even Vickers (and maybe Hackathorn too) were talking and saying how highly they thought of the MP45––I seem to remember someone doing one up for Vickers (Bowie?).
I'd send the MP45 off for a trigger job and other fanciness (to bowietactical or someone), but IF I shot .45 (instead of all 9mm), I'd definitely have one.

The M&P 45 Compact is nearly identical in size to the G19. Excellent carry gun IME.

I know - I should have quoted the first reply post because that's who I was addressing the question to...

Uh, where? The midsize 45 M&P is like a damn unicorn. I've been looking for one since they day they were announced. And, $442, that's a damn good price.
Seriously, where did you find it? Please IM me.

FUD. Try shooting it stock for 1000 rounds. If you don't like the trigger, try a trigger job.
My M&P 45c is so far my favorite M&P
They are pretty dang rare, up until a few weeks ago I had never even held one. Found one hanging on the back wall at my buddies gun store, ended up being 2-1/2 years old, wouldn't function correctly and they just left it there. I messed with it, figured out the problem and got it for nothing out of my pocket. Traded 8 of my holsters(4 kydex and 4 leather) and a day of working in the shop for it.
Still I came out way a head on the deal because the gun already had a Apex DCAEK installed in it. I updated the sear block with a new one that has the larger sear plunger and it's now a sweet gun.

It's an OK gun. It's biggest problem is that its a .45. Mine has over 2000 rounds through it.
I found a deal at a gun show for my 45 for $389. It was used with one magazine put through it and the guy said he hated it because he thought it wasn't reliable and it wasn't a glock.

I gave him $350 cash and walked away grinning like a fat kid in a candy store. Unfortunately, it did have a thumb safety but I removed it and run it without. I was using it as my IDPA gun until the matches turned to shit and there is no good competitions with an hour drive. So now its my zombie/shtf gun.
