Best Handgun I ever shot! M&P .40!!!
So I picked up a slightly used M&P .40 from an PD officer (approx. 500 rnds through), took it to the range yesterday! This handgun is so smooth. Everywhere I aimed, my round went (as long as my fundamentals were good

). Had no issues, through about 200 rnds. Almost no recoil. I love it, my new carry gun.
I like all kinds of handguns. My FNP-9, PA-93, G-19, Hi-Power, Super Blackhawk .44mag...and now M&P .40 cal..
I have never been so confident in a handgun, as this one.
Sorry, just had to express my new love!!!!
Congrats! My one and only handgun is an M&P .40. I feel good knowing I made the right decision after an endorsement from someone who has owned and used so many others. I hope to purchase a second M&P in the .40 Shield varient once available.
I love my M&P .40 and I agree that it is a fine, soft shooting, pistol and not at all "snappy".
Good luck with yours, I hope you continue to enjoy it.
Interesting. I have a M&P .45 that was uncomfortable to shoot until I put a CTC laser grip on it. Now it fits my hand and is a joy to shoot. Glad to hear it is working well for you.

I really didn't understand the "snappy" reference so many talk about here until I shot this and didn't feel it

! I was really nervous about buying a S&W since hearing about the sigma, but that is gone.
I'm think I will propbably try and get a M&P Shield from what I am reading.

I have medium size hands, chubby

and it fits great. I am of the agreement that one gun isn't for everyone. I found mine!
I agree OP, the M&P40 is one of the best .40 guns available. I can shoot mine faster and more accurately than any other .40 I have ever shot. That includes glocks, sigs, XD and the HK USP. The grip angle makes it point very well, the height of the bore over the grip cuts down on muzzle flip.
I still have a very soft spot in my heart for the HK P7 series... Still my favorite overall, shame the price is so crazy.
I also love the USP .40... It is too expensive for what it is though... A polymer .40 that SW and Glock do nearly as well for much less. Glocks just don't fit me (XD either..) so they aren't an option.
But the best of the "realistically priced" pistols is the MP without a doubt. They get even better with Apex stuff installed. My M&Ps with Apex kits are as smooth and as nice as my USP... So the USP is good, but not a good value... That slot is the M&Ps.
