I hate to sell it but the wifey says i can only trade guns at this point. Baby on the way and construction as the house has left gun money low.

so i will be selling my M&P9c to get the new M&P Shield.

its about 4 years old. i would estimate around 1K rounds thru it.

It has the following upgrades:

Custom stippled by me
Crimson trace grips
Index finger notched under trigger guard
Apex Sear
2 -12 round mags, one with Meg-gar extension making it a 15 rounder, other mag has factory baseplate.
two X-Grip extensions for use with full sized mags (no included)
custom Kydex OWB holster
original box and all palm grip sizes

how much should i ask for it. i have a buddy who is interested. his only handgun is aLC9. he has shot the M&Pc and liked it.

i would pay between $325-$375 if I was selling i would ask $400 to get as much out of it as possible.

$600?

The laser adds some value, but the stippling will be a detraction to some. I wouldn't mind it and if your buddy doesn't then don't worry about it.

Good luck.

ETA:

It looks like I may be crazy.

Putting a value on highly personalized guns is very difficult. Don't take this the wrong way but for most buyers what you've done to the pistol detracts from the value more than it enhances it. The Crimson Trace grips in particlular seem to be a love/hate sort of item. You may be better off selling separately. The Apex sear is virtually standard on used M&P's so doesn't really add much. The stippling depends on if the buyer likes it or not. Holsters add virtually nothing to a used pistol deal.

Find out what new M&P9c's are going for an knock $50 to $100 off. Plus or minus the Crimson Trace grips.

I'd say you're about $50 too optimistic but good luck.

$500 tops IMO. What you did to that frame and laser grip is irreversible.

But who knows, maybe you get a buyer who digs the stippling and ends up paying you top dollar

Sell the CT alone.

You'll do better with gun Sale + CT Sale than you will with CT & Gun sale.

I don't know. Normally, yes. But it looks like he stippled the CT...

Sell the CT separately.

With that stippling job, you'll be lucky to find a buyer at $250-$300 . . .

350 with the stipple job! another 100 to 150 for laser!

This. Sell the CT separately to get the most money though.

Normally I'd agree, but to be honest its a pretty rough looking texture job. IMHO, its going to take a toll on any offers you may get.

You did say your friend has shot it so he should be familiar with the stipple job, right? If so, ask him if he wants the CT grip as well and work him a deal. I will tell you though, I like it and would buy it, it looks like you did a good job IMO but there will be lots of people who wont, and potentially you lowered the value of the gun when you did it.

As for value, considering the gun new is selling right now for just over $400, say $425 new. The CT grips go for around $200 right? Figure for your friend, $475 for everything, $350 for just the gun. But IMO you will have a hard time selling the CT to anyone else without the pistol, unless they have stippled their frame as well.

Good luck selling it.

Sounds about right, but only if the buyer is into stippled guns. My local dealer sells brand new M&P9/40s with three mags for $399, so there's no way I'd pay more than $350 for a used one. The stippling is a deal-breaker for me though. Not interested at any price.

This is true, and right now there is a 50 dollar rebate for first responders. So I would say maybe 300 at most.

450$ bob. I hate stippling that's a 100$ cut there.

NEVER modify a weapon like this unless you're absolutely going to keep it. and if you do make sure it's professionally done by someone with a great reputation.

Well, I suppose there are a few buyers out there who "love the look." You're fishing a pretty small pond, though. It's sort of like trying to sell a Honda Civic that has a fart can and "spoiler" screwed to the trunk. Yes, maybe one potential buyer in a thousand will appreciate the "improvements," but all the rest will eliminate your offering immediately. I guess most of us just aren't sophisticated enough to "get it."

That's a great price. That's below dealer cost. I might just buy a couple at that price. Who's your local dealer?

By comparison, Bud's Guns sells M&P 9mm and 40mm pistols in the $440-$500 range.

$400 -$450 is about all you will probably get unless you find a sucker. I bought a NEW M&P 9 full size model for $479 at a gun show and I believe the model you have was $20 more.
