Just got an M&P 9 - I am looking for a trigger upgrade...help me out here
Gun is GREAT - trigger is...ok. Are there any good trigger kits or upgrades available for the M&P's trigger? Thanks in advance gents

Apex will be the number one recommendation. Check out their website. I have yet to see a negative review.
Apex carry trigger.
APEX's Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit & RAM to be exact.
awesome - thank guys!
I am curious though - whats the difference between the FSS and DCAEK?
The DCAEK/CompAEK make the trigger smoother and more crisp, but they maintian the factory "feel" as far as pre-travel, break point and over travel. The FSS changes everything and makes it more a a "1911-ish" trigger.
I'm plenty happy with the DCAEK (I have two) and CompAEk (I have two). I would consider the FSS for a dedicated competition gun, but I think I'd probably only carry it in a gun with a thumb safety.
If you're mechanically inclined Dan Burwell offers DIY powerpoint for the sear adjustments.
found here
with that said, I have the Apex DCAEK parts in every M&P I own.

Just make sure you don't polish/file to far or else you will get the gooey center and have a dead trigger!

I've got the DCAEK parts in my two M&Ps, but I had a chance to handle an FSS equipped model this weekend. Unbelievable trigger. Far superior to the stock or DCAEK IMO.
I'm happy with my DCAEK and RAM combination.
Still have the factory triggers in both of mine...but that will change soon enough.

Same. I was wondering how much difference the Apex stuff actually made.
Deleted... Hit wrong button.
Apex FSS system. I have it in all of my m&p's. It is awesome. Only negative is if you are used to a glock reset. FSS isn't as distinct but it isn't really a issue because the trigger doesn't have to travel far at all to reset. I have yet to have any issues on my guns.

The Apex stuff makes a BIG difference. One of the AEK kits and a RAM really makes the M&P trigger what it "should be." I've messed with the FSS and it is an even larger change from the factory feel, but I'd only really feel good about carrying it if I had a thumb safety. Since I don't feel like swapping my 5 current M&Ps for similar models with the thumb safeties, and since I like my "go-to" (carry/HD/competition) pistols to have similar triggers, I'm sticking with the AEKs.
