 M&P Night Sight Opitons

Just ordered a M&P 40 and am looking for a good deal a 40c as well. Best price I found was Jet Guns and they were out of stock on the 40c I want (no mag/external safties and no internal lock).

What are you guys running for night sights? I don't think I like the TruGlo TFOs because of how big and bulky they are. I think I'm leaning towards the Trijicon HDs. Anyone have these and have an opinion on them. Opinions on other night sights welcome also.

Thanks.

Kentucky Gun Co. is where I got my 40c. Have ordered 2 guns from them and they ship fast.

Possible option for night sights

I use the Ameriglo Operators (green/yellow).

I like them a lot.

That's the same price I paid for the standard size 40, but Jet Guns had free shipping. I'll keep them in mind if Jet doesn't get them back in stock soon.

I'll have to look into those sights a little more, I like the fact that they have the white dots in addition to the night sights. That's one thing I don't like about the 10-8 front sight is that it doesn't have a colored / highlighted outline around the tritium post. Do you have personal experience with those?

ETA: Actually read and looked closer. What I thought were white dots in the pic are the tritium dots and the the top dots are fiber optic. Still kind of like the design, but not so much the price.

I just installed a set of Trijicon HD's on my M&P 9 this evening. I haven't shot with them yet, but I'm impressed. I went with the orange front and it stands out nicely. I had narrowed my choices down to the HD's or the Ameriglo Hack's (but with a tritium rear). I like the u-notch rear on the HD's and if you went with a tritium rear on the Ameriglo's, price was comparable - and the HD rear is serrated.

I have the HDs with the yellow dot. Haven't shot them in the dark, but looking at them in low light conditions is like any other 3 dot night sight system. What I really wanted them for is for faster target acquisition with the big dot up front during the day or under lighted conditions.

Nice pic. That front sight does stand out pretty good. That's was one of the reasons I was leaning towards the HDs from my initial research.

I have a set of Bowie Tactical with trijicon lamps. Awesome sights with a ridged rear sight for one handed workings.

I run a Trjicon front and a 10-8 plain rear.

The Ameriglo I-Dot Pros are very similar to the HDs, available in orange or yellow front, use Trijicon inserts, and generally run about $50 cheaper than the HDs. They also sell the fronts and rears seperately so you can mix/match the ProGlo front with the Bowie Tactical rear with yellow tritium inserts for a more subdued three-dot setup.
