Just bought an M&P. Questions.
Just picked up a barely used M&P off the EE.
I have to say, it has a really crappy trigger. I'm about to order the DCAEK and RAM. Figure this could will be the best bet to get rid of the squirt-gun quality trigger.
Also, there seems to be a decent sized gap between the slide and frame. I'm not a fit and finish guy, but I'm curious as to how typical this is. There doesn't seem to be this kind of gap in the couple of M&P357s we have in the shop.
not sure about the trigger, but the gap between upper and lower is normal.

Ok, gotcha. Thanks.
I know some M&P triggers have horrible reputations, so I'm not too concerned.
gap is normal, so is the crappy factory trigger.

The trigger on my M&P9 really smoothed out at the 500 round mark.
The APEX kit will improve it greatly. I now love mine.
Stock trigger will smooth out with use, but the Apex kit does make it very nice.

This! It is a night and day difference. Apex makes an incredible trigger upgrade.
Do you know how many rounds were through the gun before you got it?? I would shoot a couple hundred rounds out of it before you decide that it does not have a "nice trigger". My M&P9 seems to have a very decent trigger..
The gap is normal.
I just installed the competition aek and the ram in my M&P. It is much smoother and a greater experience of trigger pull overall.
This kit does not take up the pretravel though. You have to get the FSS and trigger from them if you want that.
Overall the apex kit is great!
I just bought a used M&P 45 and I had the shop install the APEX sear kit before I even took ownership of the gun. Well worth the extra money and work as M&P's are not as easy to work on as Glocks.
The APEX sear kit makes the break crisp and much lighter and the reset is better too.

I'm sure it will. The guy I bought it from claims <75 rds, and it looks brand new.
However, I'm sure I'll install the Apex at some point anyways. I 'll prob go that way anyways.
On a side note, does anyone else think how the M&P breaks down is a bit odd?
I prefer ATEi over Apex.

I beg to differ, they are pretty easy.

How so? It is pretty easy and you don't have to pull the trigger.

Flipping the sear disconnect lever down inside the weapon. I've never seen a handgun with an internal takedown lever.

You dont need to use it, pull the trigger like a Glock.

Famous last words.
