Can't seem to find one of these as easily as the 4.25 inch barrel.
Do they make them in smaller runs or are they just that popular?
Also any idea if they plan on making one with a thumb safety?
They make them in fewer numbers.
S&W does not currently offer the 9L with a thumb safety, and I have not heard of any plans to do so.
FWIW, I think the M&P 9L is the best service handgun available.

I heard the M&P9L was discontinued. I could be wrong but I am about 90% sure.

I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me. Too similar to the 5" Pro for two separate lines.

S&W told me on the phone that the "L" was discontinued.
I found one BNIB a few weeks ago. I bet Sports World in Tulsa OK still has some in stock. The real kicker is they were on sale too!

Call GAT Guns in Dundee, IL. I bought a 5" M&P Pro yesterday and they also had a NIB 9L in the case. I didn't look to see if it had a thumb safety or not. They will ship to your FFL.
