problems with new SP2022
Well I haven't ever owned a Sig and picked up a new SP2022 in .40 S&W on Friday and took it out this weekend. I didn't get more than 2 mags through before the slide totally locked up with an empty case still in the gun. I cant budge the slide, its half way open with the empty case still in the gun. Its stuck on something. Its totally stuck, no amount of human force can move it. Also, before that I had 3-4 FTEs out of 24 rds.
Before I took it out I broke it down and cleaned it real good. It went back together with no problem.
The gun will go back tomorrow to the LGS I got it from and we'll go from there. But not impressed so far with my first sig.
Odd. Sounds like a stuck/bulged case. What ammo were you using? Reloads? The only problem I had during break in of my SigPro was it not returning to battery due to tight slide to frame tolerances. This abated after about 400 rounds and has not repeated in over 10,000 rounds (mine is a .40, SP2340). Our local SO issues the SP, i'll ask someone from over there this week if they've ever seen this and get back to you.

I was using Blazer Brass, pretty good ammo
some pics might help! easier to see what is actually happening than imagining in one's own mind. were you able to remove the mag?

yes I was able to remove the mag - sent the gun back to Sig yesterday and I asked for a new gun - i didnt take a pic but the slide is halfway open with a spent case in the breech, slide is totally locked
Make sure to update..
any news?
i'm curious too!
Yes i just got it back. Exeter completely replaced the barrel and slide. It seems to work fine now. I shot 150 rds yesterday. took about 3 weeks which I suppose is standard for sending a gun back to the manufacturer.
