I was scouring the web today while on break between classes and I read over a boycott and buycott going on valentines in regards to the 2nd Amendment.

What do you guys know / think about this?

Seems appropriate for the carry issues section...

A quick link:
Starbuck Appreciation Day

You can also find more with a google search..

Its a combo, the Anti's are boycotting, which makes it a great day to show up and support your local SB.

Even if you get a "regular" coffee, it's money and a show of support for a nationwide company that has chosen to go with local laws on OC and weapons policies

i think its good karma to buy from them that day. its not that they are pro-gun but they just chose to recognize state law instead of an outright ban etc. Many places will not even do that anymore so i think it deserves a little credit.

Definitely. I will be participating. I'll get others to go that day even if through subliminal messages and deception

Love the anti gun nuts website, shows a Glock talks about Tuscon shooting, and how the Glock pictured holds 31rds, when it's just a standard Glock, with standard magazine size. They just make themselves look like idiots. I will definitly go to starbucks even though I normally don't, I will probably drive over to MN so I can open carry while I do it too.

We like our coffee on the strong side, so we decided on switching to Starbuck's whole bean Cafe Verona: Dark coffee for the house.

I read a letter from them to an NCO in Iraq stating that they don't believe in the war over there and therefor don't support the troops. They won't get my money!

It could smell like 3 day old skunk carcass and taste like ass, but I'm going to buy something damn it, even if I don't drink/eat it. Too much political correctness around nowadays. Starbucks deserves a little business for standing up.

This shit is getting pretty tedious. When you receive an email with fifty forwards already, check Snopes before passing it on. Better yet, presume it to be fake. In regards to the "random soldier says company X hates America" emails, it's usually some pissed off spoiled pogue who couldn't score free shit.

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not a coffee drinker and have only stepped foot in a starbucks once to buy a gift card a few years ago... What do they sell that I might like for a few bucks? Muffins, juice, ...? I want to participate in this buycott but I just know them for $5+ coffee and calling their medium a large, and large a 20.

MAKE SURE to send Starbucks a letter saying why you went. Here's the link to let them know:
http://www.starbucks.com/customer-service/contact/company-information-form

My wife and I will definitely be there tomorrow.

They sell rolls, and hot chocolate, and apparently ice cream too, I am going tomorrow sometime in the middle of the day when I have a break from school. I told all of my pro 2nd amendment friends to go too.

Bringing in Starbucks to all my Anti co-workers! It's like dick whipping them in the eye, and being a good co-worker at the same time.

I like their Izze Sodas.

I'd stop by a starbucks for ttis, but I live in the middle of nowhere. It's about 30 minutes in the wrong direction to the nearest starucks, which is frankly why I live in the middle of nowhere to begin with.

If this is indeed true, (You know they are going to come up with something to save face.) then I'd like to rescind my statement. It was sent to me by my nephew who was serving in Iraq at the time. While I can't tolerate thier coffee, I'll go and buy a muffin or something. Thanks much.

It's hard to believe what any corporation says now-a-days due to so many trying to keep from pissing people off. It's also just as hard to believe mass emails that get passed around. I wasn't there.. it wouldn't be the first time a company lied to save face, nor would it be the first time the armed forces (or employees in) have lied to the general public.

My fiance and I went to the one near campus. We bought a couple coffees. It's interesting.. that place was just as busy as any other day. Here in oklahoma, it doesn't appear as if the anti-gun boycotters had any hold..

I supported my local Starbucks today. One of the Baristas was talking about how she reloads ammo with her boyfriend to one of her coworkers. Rock on.

Done and done.
The barista didn't even know what the boycott was about when I asked if it had affected business.
