Good backup handgun
So I have a CZ82 for CCW that Im having shipped to by door, and I want some sort of backup that I can pull in a sticky situation. I am about 5ft9in and weigh about 145-150, So I am by no means "thick enough" to not be noticed if I have bulges sticking out from under my shirt everywhere...So my CZ82 shoots a 9x18 Makarov round, and I was thinking of a little pocket clip, folding .22Magnum. I know its not alot, but I can carry it clipped to a pocket just like a knife and it is just so small I can clip it inside or around any bit of clothing and not be irritated. I know a .22 isn't a big round with much stopping power, if any, so Thank You in advance to the guy who was going to say that...Im looking for something that will convince someone that my wallet or girl means more to me than it does to them, Im not looking to rush in and help police end a gun battle with me and my CHL. 8D Anyone have any ideas? I dont like the idea of something that falls down to the bottom of my pocket, but I also dont want another holster strapped on. Ideas? Anyone have any experience with a .22Mag?
Event though it is a backup, I want it to be as effective as possible. For that reason I would look at the Ruger or Keltec in 380. They are plenty small to fit in your pocket.
I have heard good things about the Ruger LCP, but not so much on some of the Kel Tecs. For some reason people either really like or really hate the Kel Tecs.

And get a holster for it designed for pockets, like ones available from Galco.
Im looking at the .22 Magnum "Pug" from NAA. Any thoughts?

No disrespect, but do you really expect to be able to extract that little revolver from your pocket, unfold it, cock it, and fire it fast enough to thwart a violent assault?
Personally, I think they're cute little toys, but definitely nothing I'd be willing to bet my life on.
Get a G19 or G26 with G17 mags as back-up.
I wonder if you're...............
familiar.

I absolutely cannot stand mini-autos like the LCP or the like. Everything on them is so small that it's difficult for me to operate. My back up gun is a Smith & Wesson 442. It's a small (fits in front pocket) 5 - shot .38 revolver. It's not much larger than an LCP, much easier to work without having to fumble with midget mags and barbie-doll slides, and packs more of a punch than a .380.
Go j-frame revolver, you won't look back.
I want something that is small and I can throw in my pocket and not adjust. My iPhone is a hindrance, and I should want my backup to be even less so. And this is my backup, not my primary. Thats why I went with a CZ82.

same reason I carry one in my pocket
S&W 442. Its what my wife carries.
I have a Keltec Pf9 9mm and a P32 .32 ACP that I picked up a few weeks ago but i HAVE NOT shot them yet and do not trust them yet.

Tough to go wrong with a 442. Have Bob Mika make you a pocket holster and you'll never look back.
In order over time in a pocket [primary was .357 - 4" or 6"]
TP .22
H.S. .22 Mag Derringer
AMT .380
60 w/bobbed hammer-.38
now high cap mag for 9mm or .45ACP...and a very SHARP auto knife.
Suggest you consider giving up your wallet before taking a life..you don't always get cheese with the jail/prison bologna sandwiches.
Best self preservation advice recently read on the net was "Don't be an asshole and don't go where assholes go".
Be safe.
Thats not always the case UNK. And if someone wants my wallet and my other rights and properties, and they think they want them more than I do, then they have a ticket to ride. You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. You just can't ignore the crime that happens on these streets, and where I live, its around. I was in my bank talking to my investment advisor when shit went down outside. I wish I had my CZ on me when it happened. The bad boy still hasnt been ordered.
I will take the Jframe
able to fire in your pocket is a plus in my book

Why don't you just order 2 CZ's then gunslinger. I mean, your never going to find a gun slimmer than an iphone and be happy with it (if you consider an iphone a hinderance), so you might as well stop looking.
FWIW, if I was in a bank and there was a crime going on outside, I would not be itching to get involved for more reasons than I can name. Shit, I might even ask to be pointed in the direction of the back door. I'm not trying to rag on you, but an attitude like that is going to get you more negative attention than you would think. Not to mention most uses of your firearm nowadays (with exception to but not exempting when your own life is in danger) will lose you your right to bear arms. . .
My first week CCW'ing I looked at every sketchy looking Joe Schmo in the gas station like they were about to rob the place. (exaggerated) But I learnt fast that if you run around looking for trouble, IT is going to find YOU real fast and real hard.
Until MY (or family) lives are clearly threatened, no one will know whats under my shirt. Especially the people at the bank. Just my $.02
Either way, I hope you find what your looking for and best of luck to you OP. I have shot and like both the Ruger LCP and the Kel-Tec .380. Just not the prices on .380 ammo.

j frame or lcr

+1
Ive tried several 32acp & 380acp
None could shoot as accurate as any of my jframes
Its hard to belive just how accurate a jframe can be with lots of practice
Im not talking about being a vigilante, Im just showing how close to home the crime around here really is. The crime was going down at a bus stop and the guy ran off before the cops came. Im just saying there are situations where I wish I had a gun on me. What if that joe had a gun and came and grabbed me in the parking lot and told me to give him my keys? What if he decided he wanted to come get some money? What if shots went off and rounds came inside and the people were threatened? Im not talking about running out and saving the day, Im talking about how these things happen frequently and very close my home and are of operations where I work and go to school. Its more of a reality in the city. Besides, theres a big difference in profiling people looking for an enemy, and living where you know for a fact crime is going to happen, and being cautious.
Hard to go wrong with a J-Frame for a back up or deep concealment piece. Just my opinion.
or
RLTW
I carry a glock 23 for edc. my back up choice would be a g 27 because its smaller for better concealment and can fit in different places. Plus it is the same (.40) as my main carry and will accept the same magazines. Less stuff to carry and being fully functional with the same gear is a huge plus in my book.
