Will it affect reliability given that the barrel and gas system is so short?

According to most in the suppressors subforum, AK's do not suppress very well. I sure wish they did, a quiet draco would be fun to SBR.

I believe it has to do with the barrels having substandard thread quality.

Sure you can. Go to youtube and look up suppressed Draco. Here is a link of a guy with one bump firing it...

I don't know first hand, but was recently discussing my first suppressor purchase with a local dealer and I mentioned interest in compatibility with my Draco. He said AK's in general do not suppress very well do to their 'relatively open- gas system'. Take it for what it's worth. I am curious to hear others with experience, too.

ETA- that vid is very interesting. Again I too would like more info on this.

Well, he is obviously firing a suppressed Draco and it definitely looks real, but the sound is not right. My spressed 22's don't even sound that quiet. I think he played around/edited the audio portion on this video.

Yeah, I could hear the sonic crack. But the action noise wasn't even there. It's almost like the mic was cutting out due to high db output.

Most camera mics will do that.
