 Draco Accuracy and Reliability

What kind of accuracy should I expect out of a Draco Pistol? I'm wanting an SBR and I've pretty well decided on a Draco because of how affordable they are. I'd be putting peep sights and/or an Aimpoint/EO Tech on it. I'd like this to be my one 7.62 since I'm investing in a 5.45. And how about reliability? With it being an SBR, does it cycle all ammunition reliably or does it favor one particular kind?

Any information is appreciated!

Thanks!

Mine easily grouped at 1.0-1.5" at 25 yards on a bad day with irons. I've since added a red dot and a stock (legally), which should only make it better.

Mine has had zero failures in 400rds? of wolf HP and FMJ, Black box and MC..

Mine groups 1.5" for 10 rounds off a rest as a pistol at 33 feet. I know I am the problem with the group being that large. I was flinching while shooting it as it was coming close or actually touching my nose on each shot. At 25M (82 feet) I'm normally doing good with iron sights to have 5 shot groups of 5/8" or less from my VZ 58s with irons and a stock so obviously, I'm not the best marksman in the world either.

I've got several hundred rounds through my Draco now with Golden Tiger FMJ (one of the weakest 7.62x39 brands), Brown Bear HP (feeds with no issues at all) and Brown Bear SP....again no issues with any of these. My 11.5" bbl Draco has been 100% with any ammo......in fact, I bought it b/c I couldn't get a VZ 58 to reliably run on all ammo with an 11.75" bbl after being cut down from factory length.

So far, I'm very impressed with the Draco and it's my next SBR project.

If you watch carefully with high-speed photography, you can see just how much the average AKM pattern rifle flexes while shooting. This isn't a terrible thing in of itself. All rifles do this to some degree or another, and if it's consistent, it's not going to hurt at all.

Although, I'm not certain other rifles viewed at 800-1200 frames per second would actually whip visibly like the AK does.

However, with the shorter barrel, there's a chance that a Draco could actually have better mechanical accuracy/consistency than other AKM's. It may actually whip less when fired.

If someone has one of those DSLR's that can do the 1200FPS thing, I'd love to see a Draco being fired like that.

This was the best example I could find. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czeymul0h38 but it's not quite slow enough to tell, and the Draco is being bump-fired at the hip and is pretty small in the frame when it has it's turn in the video. So you can't really tell if there's as much flex or not.

Mine has several thousand down the tube, a mix of yugo surplus, wolf and brown bear; it's been 100% from day one, although I only use steel surplus mags as well.
