it looks like the new recs are all push in barrels, what kits have screw in and which ones have push in. what happens if you have a non threaded rec and a threaded barrel, can it be used as a pinned setup. as you can tell i'm new to this firearm

Im pretty sure that most of the receivers on the US market are pressed in barrels, someone correct me if I am wrong. When a builder assembles the kit the threads are turned off the barrel allowing it to be pressed into the receiver.

I JUST built an Polish RPD on a DS Arms press fit receiver. receiver was 350+ and i turned the barrel threads down in a lathe(with all the barrel components, including the bipod, still attached to the barrel) the receiver trunnion was about 0.005 under the barrel diameter so not much is needed but the threads do need to be turned down. i then pinned it with a 1/4" dowell pin.

American barrels are not is spec. They must be modified to fit on a US made receiver. Project Guns will charge you an extra $100.00 to fit an out of spec US made RPD barrel. Also they are not chrome lined like the originals.
