Got this in a trade today....very pleased, Always wanted one... but didnt really wanna buy one of the new ones that are parked and have new barrels, but...Didnt want to get a shot out barreled Yugo either (yes i know some shoot great!) but, I still wanted to find a decent barrel..

Anyway, I was offered this!...A Yugo RPK that started out as a Milled kit...

Heres the twist.... it has a PERFECT BORE!.....this thing looks practically unissued and is all matching (other than the trunions as it was a milled kit...

Anyway, just wanted to share as im as happy as can be, Didnt think it was possible to find an original Yugo with a Brand spankin New Barrel! (Atleast for me to find one anyway!) Kit was bought from SOG a few years back I was told.

Beautiful M72 to be sure, a definite keeper.

As far as perfect Yugo bores go, the bore on my M64 looks like new. Bright and shiny with really strong rifling and a perfect crown. Hard to believe.

Deffinately keepers!..and yes, it honestly is quite hard for me to believe!

The gentleman said he shot about 30rnds through it and put it in his safe....The bore looked REALLY GOOD on sight..took it home..found out it hadnt been cleaned lol (Thank god it wasnt corrosive! ) swabbed the barrel...and HOLY COW looked like my CL romy!

On the lower handguard though, the black i believe, looks like it may have gotten some hot metal on it when it was demilled...looks a little charred. But No worries! adds character!

I completely agree about the character of surplus wood. I very much prefer surplus wood to new wood from Ironwood or elsewhere.
