Nothing wrong with da 40s.

I'd rather have 6 40 round mags than 1 drum. Easier to carry and if 1 breaks I still have 5 good mags.

Need some pics of your new RPK. BSW

Combloc 30s and 40s work great, and every RPK owner should own at least one drum. Good deal on a good drum:

I use 30s, 40s, and Romanian drums in my M72.

Found a Bulgy (chicom style) 75rnd drum on gunbroker.com for $145 shipped. I had the extra cash so I sprung for it.

It's not too bad. Heavier and bulkier but it's not longer than a 30. I am concerned about long term reliability as it's a pretty complex little machine.

+1

For my Arsenal RPK, I have (1) Bulgy drum, (1) Romy drum, and (12) Bulgy 40-round waffle mags.
The drums work pretty good, but there's nothing like the 100% reliability of a 40-round mag.
One 4-cell mag pouch holds 160 rounds.
