What do you prefer to have your Vector RPD's gas setting on for standard Wolf ammo?

Set it on 2 and you are good to go

When I got the RPD back from a long stay at Vector, it was already on "2" but they (the main RPD builder there whom I forgot the name of) said to adjust it to "1" later. I thought "2" would be fine for the standard fare of Wolf, etc. and as infrequent as I shoot it. But then I wasn't sure if that was what they recommned the setting be on. Since their manual doesn't really cover it, I wasn't sure exactly what they felt was recommended.

I had to send mine back to Vector and when I got it back it was set on 1 so I called their main guy and he said to leave it on 1. I put about 3k of wolf through it and haven't had a hiccup. Mine is a 1959 Polish RPD but I don't know if that makes a difference.

IIRC, his name is Ed, I talked to him a few times he told me 2 was the best setting and if you wanted to give it a bump run it on 3.

I always kept mine on 2 like he said and it always ran fine

Gas setting on one is fine. 2 and 3 are actually way over gassed. I can only imagine they had those settings for supper dirty guns in crappy weather. I actually am going to weld mine in and recut the gas slot to half like my boss did. his runs so much smoother.
