I have been wanting one of these belt feds for a long time. Who is currently manufacturing them and who is the best?

I spotted a Vector build on the board for $3,500. Is this because they are high quality or just because know one else makes them?

When I was looking for a RPD, Vector was the only one building them and they built a really nice one. They were just under $2K. Now that Vector is out of business, I don't know of anyone building a semi-auto variant.

Stan at project guns has an semi auto approval letter using a Wise Lite receiver.
They have sources for kits and will built one for you or send them your kits.
Nice guys and they know belt-fed guns.

I am in the process of trying to find an RPD Kit with a GI Barrel. When I do I am sending it down to Stan to build me one. Sarco has kits but they have out of spec Shaw barrels.

I think this is mine that is currently being built.

I asked Stan & Jorge to remove the bipod.

Is the barrel with those kits actually that bad?

I hope you don't mind me jumping in and putting in my thoughts.

What I have been told by Stan and Jorge at project guns is the barrels are not configured like the original GI RPD barrels. There are no barrel threads on them either. There is an addition $100.00 cost for projectguns to install the American made barrels in the Wise-Lite Receivers. The American made barrels are not hard chromed like the original GI RPD barrels..

Here are spme pictures of my 16" RPD I received from Stan & Jorge yesterday. It does not have the M249 hanger installed on it. I should get that in a few weeks

Sorry about the bad phone pictures but our camera broke.
