Bought my Tantal last January and thought I got lucky with one of the newer ones. Got out to the rande today with Wolf Military Classic 70 gr. and the Russian 52gr. Started with the wolf and the groups were pretty good at 50 yeards and no keyholes. Next got out the russian ammo and almost every round keyholed. I had slugged the bore and it came out to .221. Go figure. Anyway the rifle shot real smooth just too bad I can't shoot the cheap russian stuff.

I recently saw that the Twist rate on some of these rifles was 1x7 while others were 1x8 and 1x9.

Do you know the twist rate of this rifle?

Seems to me that there is a lot of ground between 52 gr. and 70 gr.

Mine is one of the newer ones with a 1X9 twist. The Russian round goes all the way to the case when inserted in the muzzle the Wolf military classic 70 grain shows about 1/16 of an inch of bullet when inserted in the muzzle. I think I am going to get some .222 bullets pull the Russian bullets and seat the .222 and see if that eliminates the keyholes. This would come close to proving the barrel is slightly oversized. The .222 bullets can be found in 45 gr. and a 1X9 twist should stabilize this weight...I think.
