Where did it come from. I have been trying to find a pic. I was thinking it was one of the honor guard rifle grips from bulgaria or ?

Roger that - we should be able to pin it down with a photograph. Perhaps one with a flash and one in normal light outside.

I can confirm that it is Egyptian. I have a MAADI ARM that I bought in 1995. It was a post ban imported by Intrac Arms. Around 2004 I bought an Egyptian parts kit to deneuter the rifle and it came with the exact same pistol grip. My grip is dark blue too. If you look closely at it you will notice that the color is not blue but indeed black. Being an artist as well, I can tell you that there are numerous base colors in black, especially in the pigments used in the dying or coloring process. It has a blue tint to it, but it only really shows in certain lighting especially sunlight.
