B-West China ZZ Serial Number
I recently bought an AKS and it seems to stump people trying to I.D it, including myself. I'm new to this forum and have searched past threads and have not been able to I.D. my gun.
Here is a description of it...
Stamped rec, standard barrel w.thread, bayonet lug removed, wooden furniture including pistol grip, stainless carrier, stainless bolt with spring firing pin, and has blue finish.
On the bottom of receiver in front of mag well, B West LA CA China. On trunion, serial number ZZ-****.
Below serial number (left side of receiver)
AKS Sporter 7.62x39mm
Manufactured by 386 (no circle, oval, or triangle..just stamped 386)
Norinco
I have learned so much about Chinese AK rifles researching my gun, I know about B-West and am 98% it is an imported rifle. I just want to know if it is in fact a Nori or a Poly, any help would be greatly appreciated. One more thing I forgot to mention is the back of the receiver had been cut at an angle (where the butt stock attaches) and there is no sign of a underfolder being installed.
Thanks
norinco poly is correct.norinco poly has nothing to do with polytech, two different factories...keng started polytechnologies here in the US.
When I go to the range and people ask about my gun I seem to stump them when I say I have an AKS Sporter. "SKS? Sporter? The hunter? " I get that almost all the time.
