front sight is off
My galil front sight is off. It's shooting to the left. I move sight but It's still shoting left. Does any know how to fix It. I think I have to take pins out move front sight to the left. is that the right way to do It.
You will note that on the front sight base there are two large screws, Loosening one and tightening the other will move the front sight in the direstion of the loosenede screw. Also note markings graduated on front to sight base to indicase where laterally the sight has been set. You are shooting to the left to point of aim ? Loosen l/h screw a couple of tyurns and tighten r/h screw. Fire rifle and repeat until the sight is adjusted correctly, Do not leave loosened screw loose. Tighten following adjustment. I went through this proceedure once with absolute great results...
Gas block might be off a bit.
My MR331 front site has to be cranked all the way to the right to get things lined up. A bit irritating since it's genuine IMI, but it works.
Unusual for an IMI to have a canted gas block I'd think..Well it it shoots good where it is you can't beat that . I ordered an American made scope mount which I had to saw off a hunk of the front as it made it necessary to take the rifle down to install and remove. It was okay then, just loosen a thumb screw and slip it off from the slot on the l/h side. Funny thing, When I put it on, its still zeroed ! Over the years I was bitten by the AR15 bug, SKS bug, and AK47 bug, and they have all shot good and about as accurate as my ability and eyesight permitted. Today I drug out the Galil (CAI Monkey Build) (Golani Sporter) went out back with the scope mounted and was amazed how much more it seemed accurate than the afore mentioned. I won't sell them short but no dang wonder the Israeli IDF kicked Egypt's tail as well as all the rest that thought they could defeat Israel...I'll keep on playing with my ComBlok rifles and enjoy them but if I want to pop a zombie or baddie "way out yonder" Galil its gonna be ! I'd like to pop some hogs with the AK & SKS....
