I was reading the news online today when I came across this pic of a Haitian police officer with a Galil. He has what looks to be a 50 round mag. I didn't know that they used these rifles. Pretty cool.

Most likely those are South African 'R' series rifles. Basically a licensed copy of the Galil with a few changes. SA sent several weapons shipments over some years back before the now deposed dictator had to GTFO. He is currently living in SA under governmant protection.
The Haitian police use whatever they can piece together. Most of them run around with cheap rusty shotguns and old revolvers.
