How common are the Valmets in 7.62x39 in the civilian market? (Non NFA / Semi Auto)
How close are they to the AK47 / AKM? Are the parts interchangable?
Can anyone tell me a little more about them? Going Rate?
A wood stock M62 just sold o GB for $2700 which is a good price. I have seen them from $2700 to $4500 depending on cond. and accessories. They are the finest AK variant ever made in my opinion!
Don't know if there is any compatibility between Valmets and Russian or any other...however I do know that the Finns bought some AKM's from Russia and reversed engeneered them. the Finns are famous for changing things though plus one on saying they are the finest AK variant in the world.
parts are awfully hard to find but they are out there.
Mags are interchangeable for sure. I'm running two Finnish Valmet Poly mags in my AK and they both fit and function perfectly...
You made me weep with envy...
I've tinkered around with a few at the range. They're well made.
Thanks! I would advise anyone who is or has ever thought of owning one to buy now because prices on all so called assualt weapons are way down right now! There are some real bargins if you look hard and are patient. I just picked up an unfired Valmet M76W with 2 factory mags for $1250 and saw a NIB with all accesories Polytech Legend for $1450. When the Dems start making noise about bans again this stuff will jump way up.
