VALMET .223 MAGS
Any one have a source for Valmet .223 mags?
I have heard that you can modify .223 AK mags to work by taking some metal off of the catch area...anyone try this (successfully)?
Thanks,

Valmet mags for sale here. Not originals, bujt they seem to be good converted mags. The most popular mag to convert for the Valmet is the Bulgarian synthetic "waffle" mags.Do not use Galil mags in a Valmet! They fit & lock up fine, but the feed angle is too low which can cause bullet set back into the case.this could cause an overpressure problem, aka kaboom.Yugo .223 AK mags also make good conversion mags as do the German Weiger mags.
thx
Good advice there, I've coverted some Bulgarian waffle mags, they work as good as the factory Valmet mags.
How much modification has to be done on the Bulgy waffles for them to work and what mods did you make to the mag???

On The 76 in .223 File down the back side on bulg mags, to leave a narrow lip. If You Have A Factory Valmet Mag Compare. It Took Me Maybe twenty Minutes By Hand. I Prefer To Use The East German .223 mags. The Bulgy Seem To Fragile. I Have Done About Eight Each For My 76.
Are you talking about the East German Wieger mags, they work better?

Yes, Those Are The Ones.CDNN Used To Have Tons Of Them.
I have alot of Chinese 223 mags for my 4 84S,s, has anyone converted these to fit the M76 Valmet?

They are the best, very sturdy. I had Tromix convert my East German mags, I think they were the last ones converted by Tromix before they quit doing them.

This is a good question. Can these be modified to work as I have plenty.
Any feedback would be great here.
Does anyone know of a source for the either the Bulgy Waffle mags or the SAR-3/StG940/Weiger mags?
If I could get about 100 of them, I would consider running another batch of Tromix Valmet mags.

Tony,
Ten years after they are gone people will still request them, if you do another batch.
On the other hand, it would be nice to know some of the rifles were not being abused by the wrong magazines.

My Valmet would thank you!
If you could get either, I would be in for some. On the other hand I have about 10-12 Bulgies that need converting. Maybe if a few people sent you some you might be able to do a batch?

I have 15-20 Wiegers and 10 bulgys that I need conversions! I would trade some mags for some conversions??
